In January 2015, the University of Tsukuba held the “Advanced Topics in Biotechnology and Medicine Course 2015” at the University of Science HCMC. This is the second time that the University of Tsukuba has organized this course for Vietnamese students.

This year 40 Vietnamese students participated in the course. The students were divided into three groups, and were taught and supervised by three professors from the University of Tsukuba. Three graduate students of the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences and the PhD Program in Human Biology of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba also attended the course as teaching assistants. Alongside the main scientific topics, students were also taught how to give good presentations in English by two English native speaking professors.

On completion of the course, all participants were given certificates issued by the University of Tsukuba. And one excellent student was awarded “The “Young Scientist Award.” This student will be selected to join the University of Tsukuba’s Summer Research Scholarship Program 2015.
