SEMINARS OF INTRODUCTION OF UNIVERSITY OF TSUKUBA AT UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE HCMC & UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE & PHARMACY HCMC (14 & 15/5/2012)

University of Tsukuba organized educational seminars on May 14 at University of Science HCMC and on May 15 at University of Medicine & Pharmacy HCMC respectively.

Coming to the seminars were professors from University of Science and University of Medicine & Pharmacy and around 200 students from Biology Faculty of University of Science and from University of Medicine & Pharmacy.

After welcome speeches of the host universities as well as a brief introduction of the University of Tsukuba, four professors from University of Tsukuba introduced some of their research activities in different medical fields such as virology, gene regulation, regenerative medicine & stem cell biology and cardiovascular regulation.

University of Tsukuba then introduced Graduate Global 30 programs for Master and PhD degrees, the Undergraduate Program in Medical Sciences and the 5-year consecutive PhD Program in Human Biology. All the introduced programs are offered in English. Students who are accepted into the PhD Program in Human Biology will be financially supported all tuition fee and living cost as well as finance for oversea activities. Students accepted into Dual Master and Doctoral Programs and Undergraduate Program in Medical Sciences also will receive support for tuition fee from University of Tsukuba. In addition to the above programs, University of Tsukuba also organizes a 2-week summer school in Tsukuba. Annually, around 8-10 Vietnamese students are accepted into this summer school which all cost covered by University of Tsukuba.

Students were then also provided with some rough information about the application procedure and the sites to refer.

At the end of the agenda, one Vietnamese alumni of University of Tsukuba talked to prospective students about student life in Tsukuba. Prospective students can see how Vietnamese students live, study, travel, entertain …, etc. during their stay in Japan.

After the seminars, some students continued to contact with office of University of Tsukuba in HCMC to get further information about programs that they want to join.
