MEXT Scholarship in Medical Sciences - Call for Application

    Dear all,

    I am glad to inform you that our Medical Faculty, University of Tsukuba got a grant from Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship.

    Seven (7) master students and seven (7) doctoral students are supported by this grant (144,000 ~ 145,000 JPY/month). Entrance fee and tuition fee are also covered by Japanese Government.

    This grant is opened for students in all over the world and probably three (3) students in master course and three (3) students in doctoral course are the limit from one country.

    The necessary application procedure is described below:

    1. Step 1: Find a lab
      At first, students have to find a laboratory where they would like to do research. Please check the "List of Basic Research Field" to find the lab. And also please go to International Office homepage to find information.

    2. Step 2: Contact the Principal Investigator in the lab and get approval
      Students have to contact the Principal Investigator in the lab that students are interested in and get approval for applying for this grant.

    3. Step 3: Fill in and submit the Application Form
      Students fill in the Application Form according to the above_posted instruction manual and submit it by the deadline.

    4. Step 4: Application Deadline and Examination

      Application Deadline: Application Deadline for Vietnamese students is January 10, 2013 (Deadline on January 25, 2013 is not applied for Vietnamese students)

      Examination: After passing the first screening, students will attend the oral examination in Ho Chi Minh City or Ha Noi on someday in the third week of January, 2013 (January 16 ~ January 18)

    All students who pass the examination will start class in Medical Sciences, University of Tsukuba from October 1, 2013.

    If students are interested in the lab of clinical medicine or public health, master course students are supported by this grant, but doctoral course students are not. Please ask International Office in Medical Sciences, University of Tsukuba (Email:med.office@md.tsukuba.ac.jp, Tel:+81 29 853 5860).

    Master course or Doctoral course students in University of Science HCMC or Univeristy of Medicine & Pharmacy HCMC can also apply dual master or dual doctor program.
